Children’s Ministry
Through the Children’s Ministries of Childress Methodist Church, we hope to begin building a foundation for faith within each child that we are entrusted with. We hope to assist parents in teaching their children the stories of our faith, to pray, and to connect with God and with others through Worship and Bible Study.
Feel free to involve your child in one of our many great Children’s Ministry activities:
Vacation Bible School
For 3 -4 days in early June we welcome Children from the Community and our Church Families children to learn more about God’s love for each of us, and how to live out his love in our lives.
Christmas Program
Our Pre-K – 5th Graders work throughout the Fall to present the Christmas Story through songs, and
narration.
Disciple Kids
Wednesday afternoons our Pre-K – 5th Grade kids gather to eat, sing, do crafts, pray, discuss a Bible Lesson, prepare songs to sing during Sunday Worship.

Church Camps
Ceta Canyon Camp and Retreat Center, between Happy and Canyon off of FM 285, is a place focused on providing space for students to encounter Jesus. Students will have fun, grow in community with other students, but most importantly they will grow in their relationship with Jesus.
- One Way 4 – 6 Grade Camp is a Monday – Friday camp held typically in late June.
- Lil’ Ceta is a “3 day” camp for 2nd and 3rd graders
Check out the Church News page to see dates and prices for camp.
Youth Ministries
Encounter Weekend
Encounter Weekend: a time where students from all over the South Plains come together to worship, learn, and grow together. Every student is challenged in their understanding of God through corporate teaching, worship, and breakout seminars, all targeted specifically for Jr. High and High School students.
Confirmation
The goal of our confirmation class, is for our students to learn the basics of the Christian faith, ask hard questions and begin taking ownership of their faith. The class is typically attended by the class of 6th graders each year but is open to all Jr High youth. Following the class, students will make a public profession of faith and formally join the
church.
Church Camp
One Way Camp at Ceta Canyon Camp and Retreat Center is a week long camp focused on providing space for students to encounter Jesus. Students will have fun, grow in community with other students, but most importantly they will grow in their relationship with Jesus. Check out the Church News page to see dates and prices for camp.
HS Games
We will take a van or bus full of students to several away High School Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball or Softball games. The games we attend will typically be district or playoff games. Join us in supporting our Bobcat athletes!
Adult Sunday School Classes
Hallelujah Class
We are a Class in our early 40’s to early 60’s. Our study and discussion typically rotate around topical Bible lessons, Marriage studies, or Parenting studies.
Join us upstairs!!!
Seekers Class
James and Althea Driver lead us in topical book studies that help us grow in our faith as well as to live out our faith on a daily basis.
Pathfinders Class
Singles, couples, all ages are welcome as we study the Bible following Cokesbury’s Adult Bible Study Series. The class often compares different translations of the Bible as we study and discuss together. The class really teaches the lesson through discussion by those who choose to speak and share. Come join us in singing hymns led by a vocalist and pianist.
Upper Room Class
We’re a group of individuals (mostly grandparents) who enjoy a discussion based approach to Biblical study and fellowship with one another. We study published Sunday School literature and/or topical Bible lessons.
We meet every Sunday in the first classroom downstairs in the educational wing. Newcomers are encouraged to join us!
Hughes Class
Hughes Class is more of a lecture style class that is broadcast on the radio (10:00 – 10:30 AM on 96.1 FM)
